This book has been researched, compiled and edited by Brian Roberts whilst Chairman of the CIBSE Heritage Group, with the assistance of those Heritage Group members acknowledged under "Contributors." The text and illustrations are taken from the Phipson Archives in the Heritage Group Collection and other sources detailed in picture captions and the extensive references in the Appendices.
Originally completed in 2002, the intended publisher proved unable to provide the finance for printing and alternative sponsorship has not been forthcoming. It has therefore been decided to publish the complete 144 page book on this website in the first uncorrected draft "cut-and-paste" format. While the illustrations are poor quality photocopies, many are available in colour and higher quality elsewhere on this website. Research on Phipson has continued and additional information will be posted on the website as an addendum to this draft book.
