This pair of unusual fittings
forming pipe crosses were found in an
University
building.
They appear to be bifurcated fittings allowing
the flow
& return pipes to pass through each other and thus avoid
unsightly
double pipe sets. Although with the need for reducing
sockets to be fitted, improved appearance is a matter of
opinion.
After much research the Heritage
Group have been unable to discover this
type of fitting illustrated in any of their old pipework &
fittings catalogues.
If anyone has knowledge of the manufacturer of
these
types of fittings please email the Webmaster.
